The Main Themes and Topics Covered in This Juzz/Para of the Holy Quran

Para 27, known as Qala Fama Khatbukum, begins with the angels explaining their mission concerning the people of Lut. The closing passages of Surah Adh-Dhariyat recall other rejected messengers and affirm that jinn and humanity were created to worship Allah.

Surah At-Tur warns of certain judgment and contrasts punishment with the comfort of Paradise. It challenges claims that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ invented the Quran and calls opponents to consider whether creation could exist without a Creator.

Surah An-Najm affirms the truth of the Prophet’s reception of revelation and rejects false beliefs about idols and angels. It teaches that no person bears another’s burden and that human effort will be accounted for before Allah.

Surah Al-Qamar recalls the splitting of the moon and the rejection of earlier peoples. Repeated accounts of Nuh, ‘Ad, Thamud, Lut’s people, and Pharaoh warn against dismissing clear signs.

The Quran’s accessibility for remembrance is repeatedly emphasised. Surah Ar-Rahman draws attention to Allah’s mercy and blessings, from teaching the Quran to the order of creation.

Its repeated question challenges humans and jinn to recognise the favours they deny. Scenes of judgment are followed by descriptions of the gardens prepared for the righteous.

Surah Al-Waqi’ah describes the inevitable Last Event and the division of people into distinct groups. The foremost believers, the people of the right, and the people of the left receive different outcomes.

Human creation, crops, water, and fire provide signs of divine power. Surah Al-Hadid calls believers to faith and generous spending.

Wealth is a trust, and worldly attractions quickly fade. Believers are urged to let their hearts soften to Allah’s remembrance rather than become hardened over time.

The para also speaks of messengers, revealed books, and the establishment of justice. Its recurring message joins certainty about the Hereafter with sincere worship, gratitude, humility, and generosity.

Selected tafsir references (Ma’ariful Qur’an): 51:31; 55:1; 56:1; 57:20.
